Executive Coaching Reflection Piece
In 2023, Phoenix Project NOLA, under the leadership of Executive Director Erin Marrero-Savoie, successfully led its first educational cohort. This program served 8 women through a 12-week course offered in three different languages, in partnership with the University of New Orleans’ language program.
Key Highlights of the Program:
- Childcare Support: Participants who were mothers received childcare during the cohort sessions to ensure they could fully participate without missing out on the experience.
- Financial Wellness: The program included sessions on the basics of finances and financial wellness, helping participants understand what it means to be financially well.
- Career Readiness: A career readiness course was provided, featuring an in-depth analysis of participants’ work histories, strengths, and future career goals.
- Workforce Exploration: Lessons on understanding job opportunities, job security, and exploring the workforce were included to better prepare participants for their career paths.
- Budgeting and Homeownership: A thorough budget analysis helped participants understand what they needed to save for a home. The program concluded with lessons on mortgages and setting individual goals for the year leading up to homeownership.
This comprehensive program not only equipped participants with essential financial and career skills but also provided the necessary support to ensure their success and progress towards homeownership.
